Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The new rules for the November lockdown are here:

They start on November 5th and end on December 2nd, after which regional tiered restrictions resume. The tier level will depend on regional infection levels.

Schools remain open, but non-essential shops are closing, including pubs, restaurants (takeaway only), hairdressers, gyms, zoos etc etc.

You are only able to meet (for exercise or to visit outdoor public places) with one person from another household.

You can see the latest London infection data here:

This government site gives you a graphical view of weekly infection rate; zoom in to see local areas:

It's a good job school pupils, students, and employees are immune to Covid, otherwise these restrictions would be pointless!

We will look back on the missed education that these children are receiving and wonder if that first lock down was worth it.

It's a bit more complex than that - younger kids seem less likely to catch/spread, though older teenagers (maybe 15 and over?) are much the same as adults, e.g. see this recent Nature news article.

It could be worse!  My cousin, who lives in a tiny cottage in rural Brittany says "We are allowed out to within one kilometre of where we live & have to fill in a form every time we do this, thank goodness for a large garden."  It sounds a bit impractical. Their nearest shop is 2 km.
