Anyone can get a Free test, why go to a private clinic, that might not be accepted by authorities
You can get a free antigen test but not an antibody test
if you are a user of Patient Access you can find the nearest establishment offering this. The going rate seems to be £99.
My daughter found out that she needed a valid negative test result to fly to Cyprus ( this was Saturday she was flying first thing Monday) . We went online and made an appointment ( drive in) at Ally Pally where the farmers market is held. Test at 12:50 Saturday, She received a text with the result the following morning ( Sunday at 6am). Very impressed as we had enquired about private testing which couldn’t guarantee a time and was £300!
Hi David.
That’s an antigen test, which tells you if you currently have the virus in your system and so may be infectious.
An antibody test tells you if at some point in the past you have had an infection (which you may or may not have been aware of) and your body has had an immune response by producing antibodies. There is still debate about whether a positive antibody test is a reliable indicator of immunity to future infection
