It sounds like a strange request but does anyone have a portable audio cassette player that I could borrow or perhaps buy? One of my lockdown projects is sorting out my old tapes and mine has just given up.

If you mean something like a Walkman, we have a couple of old ones, which are in good shape and working fine. I'd be happy to loan you one. How long do you think you might need it for? We are (on advice of GP) completely self-isolating, but that should not be a problem. We're just off St Anne's Road, near to Green Lanes and The Salisbury. We also have at least one set of "ear-bud" headphones for you to listen to your tapes, or you might prefer to pick up a pair - you can get a lot of different headphones on-line, and the basic ones are fairly inexpensive.
OK. Your posting said "portable", so naturally I assumed you meant something that you could carry around with you, that is, portable. And you should know that your old Walkman, that is, old Walkman-type portable cassette players, are often worth more than you might think on Ebay.
Hi Christopher. Yes sorry it wasn't clear. I meant that I wasn't looking for one that was part of a bigger music system with separate speakers etc. Thanks for the tip about the walkmans!
Hi - I've got one you can have. I'm on the Ladder - message me and we can sort it out.
It's not fancy but it works!
Ive got unused cassette tapes still in their packaging if thats a help?!
Thanks so much Kate but I do have quite a few blank cassettes. I'm not planning to do any more recording by this way now though!
Hi thanks so much! I'll message you soon as I've worked out how to do that......
Just to avoid confusion my last post is for Nick. Thank you everyone
I've sent you a message
