Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I've just received a letter from Haringey planning telling me that Agora have appealed to the planning inspectorate against the council's refusal to allow them to extend their opening hours.

Link here

Hope it works. Or go to The Planning Portal and search for application 2111236. You can comment electronically from there.

Alternatively you can write to

The Planning Inspectorate
3/01 Kite Wing
Temple Quay House
2 The Square
Bristol BS1 6PN

By 23 October - you need to send three copies of your letter.

After the magnificent response last time, don't let this one get through!

Not a very user-friendly website but persistence is key. Agora is dreadful, so let's make sure the planning appeal people know what we think.
My letter said all previous comments would be forwarded to the planning inspectorate. I assume it can't hurt to submit them again? At least they'll know we care.
Can anyone recap what the best grounds for objecting are?
All the responses to the original application can be seen on the Haringey planning site which is here.

And the last post about this on HOL is here.
Look out for the keyword "comment". There's somewhere that says something like "View documents and comment."
See also Cml's posting about this including comments from Andy Newman of the GRA. That one's closed now and the discussion has been redirected to here.
Here's the simple how to comment on the appeal online. As Michael says, go to the Planning Portal, then follow the pics below, searching for application 2111236:

I've done so too, but have also dropped a note to the LCSP to ask if they could set out what grounds would make the most convincing appeals. I hope they'll let us know. Seems like the deadline we're given online is 13th October.
Following my request to the LCSP, they have now come back with an informed piece on what grounds fro appeal in most likely to be effective:

Points to bear in mind:

1. remember that this is a planning appeal - the Gaming Centre already has a licence for 24 hrs granted by the Magistrates’ Court, following their Appeal against the refusal by LBH Licensing

2. reasons for objecting must therefore be on planning grounds. These do not include issues such as effect on property values, over-supply of gambling outlets in Green Lanes, personal opinions or moral/religious arguments about gambling.

3. instead it’s a good idea to refer to planning policy issues such as effects on local amenity, environmental impact, effect on the character and appearance of the area, noise and disturbance, effect on viability and vitality of shopping centre

4. given that the proposal is to open virtually non-stop all week, there are obvious issues for residents concerning loss of amenity due to noise, light pollution, gathering of customers outside the premises or in adjacent areas

5. from a town centre perspective, there are negative implications for the character of the core Green Lanes area, which currently has no joint licence/planning approval for any café/club/bar pub/gaming outlet on a 24hr basis. There are a few food shops open 24hrs, but that is all (McDonalds is outside the core area).

6. overall, the proposal is not sensitive, or complementary, to the surrounding area, but rather aims to create a totally new situation with a 24hr leisure facility where none exists, in a predpredominantly residential area.
Many thanks to Hugh - I never would have worked out how to lodge a comment without his tutorial. Someone should have a word with them about their website.

I got a letter about this from Haringey, I guess because I objected before. Am curious that the deadline for email comments is the 13th Oct (NEXT TUESDAY) - this isn't mentioned in the letter, which refers to a deadline for written comments sent through the mail as being 23rd October. Crazy logic?

Am guessing most people would object by email - so object away, you only have two days.
The deadline is definitely 13th. Haringey made a boob.
Helpful of them!
Just had a letter through my door to inform me that the appeal hearing will be at the Civic Centre, on 24th November at 10.00. Residents may attend.
