Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I'm sure someone must have posted this before and it's sad that the owner wants to retire (will be missed)

But I had no idea they're turning out 200-250kg sausages a WEEK. Who's eating them all???

Let us live in hope.....

People here have very short memories. Andreas's butchers moved along from near the Printers' Arch when the Funeral Director's premises on Mattison corner became available. If it's continuity you're looking for, this may be the ideal time and opportunity for a new Funeral Home to make a smart move at reasonable cost. I think the butcher's shop was just a front office to conduct business and the back yard or back store used for (empty) coffin storage. I think Kotkas should think of its antecedent existence. Think back to 1348 and the after-effects of that pandemic on Green Lanes and Haryngeay, as contemporary butchers and funeral directors would have know it.

I'm going to miss those old friendly faces and especially their chump lamb chops and the occasional lamb leg.

Hi everyone. Is this story based on the Rightmove ad linked at the top of this thread or something more substantial? I was in Baldwins this morning and was told - by the owner - that he is not currently selling and not about to retire. He has thought about it in the past, though, and maybe the ad dates from that time.

Google's 'inurl' function shows a publication date of 25th November 2019 for the Baldwins property on Rightmove.

Andreas may just have put the shop out there to see how the market values his business with no real intention of selling. If he hasn't, he should probably contact the agent.

Looks like there has been a mix up by the OP.

Doubt anyone is willing to spend 500k during a Pandemic which is likely to last 12-18 months.

Baldwins here to stay for the foreseeable future i presume, at least into 2021.

Same here. Was told any talk of closing down was based on false rumours.

Business is booming at Baldwins, I went a few days ago and the cue went around the corner all the way up the school on Mattison road!

It would be absolute nonsense to sell up now! They must be raking it in.

Places like this are clearly attracting more custom now due to the lockdown
