Lost and beautiful ginger cat - bit me!
First time in my garden on Beresford Road N8, I noted a local cat arguing with a new, ginger cat with lovely markings but one I had never seen before. Chased them both away, ginger came into the house so chased the cat out but followed him/her and just sat. Cat came very close to me, stopped 'crying' so much as it was clearly in distress (although I couldn't see any obvious injury but noted fleas which suggests not been home for a while), seemed to want some care and then sank its teeth and claws into my wrist.
My guess is that the cat is injured (I have had four of my own so some experience of cat behaviour) and wanting help but just not ready. So please be careful and I am hoping there is an owner out there?

I have ginger female cat with 3 adorable kittens attending my garden and shed, she is fierce as protecting her youngsters, I don’t have the heart to chase them but I have 2 dogs so not ideal situation. If they belong to anyone please ring me on 07813019390, my name is Christine

I have tried every every single venue I could think of but no one wants to know or help. I am looking into trapping them myself . Rspca, all rehiring and their kind advert , just gimmicks when it comes to help. If anyone has a positive idea please let me know.

Try these people - I think the contact person was called Marilyn. I haven't had any direct contact with her but they were extremely helpful with a problem unneutered cat that was causing havoc in my street a few years ago. The name is deceptive - I believe they focus on cats.

Mind that bite - my own very elderly cat had a panic attack at the vets a few weeks ago and bit me on the back of the hand. The infection was well and truly going by the end of the day and I ended up on antibiotics, including one burst of intravenous at the Whittington to speed things up.

You probably know all this already and are sorted, but in case it helps anyone in this situation - ideally need to get the mother and her kittens safe inside and fostered in a spare room as the sooner they are helped the better - kittens will need socialising/handling before they get too old and they will all need neutering, including the mother - otherwise she will get pregnant again very quickly and so will the kittens and there will be more homeless cats. It’s vital to get the mother at the same time as the kittens, I don’t know how wary she is, it can be tricky, a cat trap might be needed. I expect that there is an unneutered male cat around who will need help and neutering as well.
As for any possible owner, that can be checked once the mother is caught, photographed and scanned by a vet to see if microchipped - any responsible owner should have, at the very least, got their cat neutered and chipped, but sadly some people aren’t aware of how vital it is to neuter.
