Does anyone own a black cat around mattison road area?

There is a large black cat that been trying to kill the wild ducks sitting on the banks

Also, what is the law in the uk for holding an air-rifle? Maybe I can shoot the cat away....

thats a bit extreme in this case.. the cat is trying to kill ducks...the cat owners should be made responsible for the cats actions

As unpleasant as I find the idea of a cat killing a duck I find the idea of a human picking up a gun and shooting an animal abhorrent.

That's nature. Would you have the same issue if it were a bird of prey?

Nobody " owns " a cat . A cat has humans who look after it and pander to its wishes.

Surely the ducks will just take to the water or move to the opposite bank ?

surely like a human an animal like a duck would like to relax on the river banks and chill and not worry that some cat owned by humans wants to kill it and eat it, maybe because its owner does not feed the cat?....

Now I KNOW this is a wind up

Issue the cat with an ASBO.

I will start "save our ducks on the ladder!" pressure group

Trying to kill a duck Def isnt anythng out of the ordinary in a cats life. But actually managing to do so is unlikely. I have a large black cat on Mattison rd. Please don't shoot him for trying to do what cats do. Although the most he has gleefully ever brought me home over the years, are a few  feathers

We tried that with ours, he learnt how to silence it when he wanted within 2 weeks. He'd push it against his body with his neck.

Assassinate? Who put a contract on the ducks ? Cats are paid killers ? We talking about irresponsible cat owners here

I know this cat but I don’t know who he belongs to. I live next to the river and this cat has been around for the six years I’ve lived here and we have become sort of friends... to my knowledge has never killed a duck, by this I mean I’ve never seen or heard any evidence of this. In fact poor black kitty himself is often targeted by the ducks and geese and swans. He mostly enjoys sunbathing on the riverbank next to the school and I’ve seen the birds picking on him so he is probably just giving as good as he gets. There’s a nice little assortment of wildlife on that stretch of the river and they all seem to get on ok as a whole, other than a few little spats. Also let it be known that if I catch you trying to shoot him you will be up the hospital having the air rifle removed from your rectal passage.
