Large plant pot and wisteria stolen from front garden
Just went out the front to water my window boxes and plants and noticed that the large (and very heavy) blue ceramic pot containing my developing wisteria plant had been nicked! This must have happened last night (Sunday) as it was there when I went to put some stuff in the recycling bin at around 9pm.
I know it's hardly the crime of the century, but it's annoying all the same. I just hope that whoever took it has ruptured themselves! I'm in Falkland Road on the Ladder, by the way.

I don't have a photo of it, unfortunately....it was around 40cm high (15") and around 36cm (14") wide, deep blue in colour, and the wisteria was about 28cm high and looking a bit sad. I know this happens round here sometimes, but I haven't lost anything from the front garden for at least ten years.

That must be pretty annoying, sorry to hear. A it's your property and B it's a labour of love (and time!) that someone's taken away.
Not quite the same thing but someone's been randomly cutting down one of our plants in our front garden. It was a little out of control and due some tying to a pole but it wasn't obstructing the pavement as such. Besides they kept cutting it off low at the stems.
After moving here I've been introduced such a broad range of anti social behaviour that I was previously not familiar with that I can only conclude that much of it has to be purely for 'fun' rather than any sort of economic necessity.

Thanks....I'd grown the wisteria from a very small plant and was hoping to eventually plant it in the front garden and train it to grow up the front of the house. It clearly didn't like the recent hot weather, though! The pot and the plant had been in the front garden under the bay window for a couple of years.
What's happened to the plant in your front garden is also very annoying, and I sympathise. This kind of stuff is indeed anti-social behaviour, really; I've lived here since 1995 and have seen a fair bit of ASB in that time, although it used to be worse than it is now.

Check boot fairs. These are not stolen by plant lovers, it's acquistive theft, well grown pots sell for serious money. Report to police (online is easy) too so it gets logged.

I reported the same thing recently, felt a bit embarrassed doing it, but the chap I spoke to said it's handy for them to be able to track similar thefts, even though obviously they won't investigate. And it made me feel a bit better about losing my beautiful plant pot.

Yes, I'm not happy about losing that plant pot - not sure how hardy that wisteria was, though. I've got some plastic terracotta-type pots in the shed, so will use those in the front garden in future.

Someone snapped off my sunflower outside our flat on Allison rd and threw it on the floor. I was really upset about that and perhaps disproportionately so! I think it's something about it being a plant that you've loved and cared for. Whatever the case it's not nice at all!

Quite - that's just nasty, somehow. I agree with you about being upset when a plant you've cared for and nurtured is either damaged or stolen....
