Ian has shared the following burglary warning.
Small locksmiths stickers have been stuck to some front door surrounds and/or windows, which can then become an identification signal for a future burglary. Wandsworth Council put out a warning about this last year (see http://www.itv.com/news/london/2017-05-20/council-warns-fake-locksm... which shows a sticker), so the tactic may now have spread in our direction.
If you see these stickers on your property, remove them straight away and inform the SNT (Safer Neighbourhood Team) of the contact details on them.

There were a few of these on Burgoyne Road about 3-4 weeks ago
Update from Ian Sygrave:
"Many thanks to members who have been in touch by email and phone regarding locksmiths’ stickers. It does now seem that the sheer numbers of these in Ladder roads which have been reported to us means that they are unlikely to be used as a target for burglary, which is good news.
However, our policy remains ‘better safe than sorry’ and we still recommend that you remove stickers of any nature which may appear on your property. We would also caution against using an unknown firm touting for business in this way (or even by flyer) simply on the basis of a mobile phone number, without making enquiries of their probity and competence. This is, of course, especially the case when your own security is at stake."
