Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Harringay Councillor Zena Brabazon Front Runner as New Leader of the Council
I've been told by a Labour Party member that at a hustings lat night, Harringay councillor Zena Brabazon has been voted as favourite to occupy the now vacant role of Leader of the Council.
What a different council that would be!
The other candidates were Cllr Ahmet and Cllr Ejifor.
The final choice will be made by elected councillors.

Actually agree but it's WHAT gets salvaged that matters. Since Berkeley Homes began the redevelopment at Woodberry Down in 2008 their share price has quadrupled. This is despite tenants there being offered the right to RETURN, the same amount of prime (waterfront view) housing being available for social housing as private, and an increase in the amount of social housing available. Given this, what was proposed in the HDV was regeneration AND social cleansing.

If by "above post" GordonT, you mean Mr Hill's blog, then unfortunately it does not help in explaining what is happening. As it's more concerned to paint events as the machinations of Momentum.

I've already written what I disagree with.
Mr Hill's repeated story casts his right-wing Tory Policy friends as "moderates" and "centrists. This is in contrast to left-wing Labour Party members and the other Parties & non-party campaigners who formed the anti-HDV alliance as Momentum/"Hard Left".
You can believe Dave Hill's stories if you wish. They are inaccurate.

Osbawn just gives a label, Hill uses that label while at least describing the votes and giving his analysis, the only one I've so far found. That was my sole point. As with reading any political writing, I don't read On London expecting it to be objective, just as when reading HoL contributors. Whatever happened to reading between the lines, eh?
And since Hill's blog does not help in explaining what is happening, the pages of HoL await a contribution that does explain what's happening.

I wasn't at the meeting, of course. But I'm told that Mr Hill got the numbers right.
I agree that reading between the lines is fine. But before doing so it's helpful to see where the lines have been drawn.

Why nowadays does every Tom, Dick, Harry elected or appointed to lead councils of community, church or state feel compelled to mouth hypocritical clichés to the effect that they are "humble" or "humbled"? No they're fecking not. They're like, 'Yeah, bring it on - but don't ask me how many arses I licked to get here!'

Curious that Seema should be chortling about a third black leader of Haringey Council rather than mentioning the loss of a second woman leader.
Incidentally, we had three Irish council leaders since I moved to Harringay over forty years ago.
Coincidentally, they were all named George Meehan.
Just saying, since these minor sectionalisms seem to matter.
