Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Week Long Virgin Media Outage Lothair Road
havent had TV or broadband since last Sunday, and their latest change of estimated repair time is now Monday 16th at 3pm.
i have read people claim that having no internet is freeing and wonderful. It is not. It sucks.
anyone else in the area affected by this outage or is it just our house?

Can't say if anyone else is affected. However, I would suggest switching to a professional ISP such as Zen or Andrews & Arnold rather than the amateurish Virgin mob. Anyone that can't manage to secure their street cabinets shouldn't be in the business of data transit IMO.

Yes, I’m having the same problem - on Endymion Road.
I phoned to complain on Friday and they will reduce the next bill, but couldn’t offer any information about what the problem is or why it’s taking them so long to fix. The only way I could get through to a human being was to select the ‘I’m leaving Virgin’ option.

Ah - that’s good to know.. I’m heartily sick of being caught in automated telephone system loops... it’s just st so frustrating...I even put my mobile number in thing that was supposed to mean I was sent updates on when the problem will be fixed by text but they haven’t bothered updating me at all.
i guess they assume we are locked in to their contact so they don’t care how they treat us

I asked for a more direct number and he said to call 08448003118 then select option 1 then 2.
I signed up for the text and email updates, and have been getting the email ones but no texts. The emails have been no help anyway because none of the times they’ve given so far for fixing it have been remotely reliable!

An ex Virgin engineer told me that a big problem in this area with faults is rats running up from Green Lanes underground along the cable service ducts and chewing on the cables ...

Not on Wightman Rd, I don't think there are any overhead lines on the other Ladder roads.

F***ing unbelievable! I don’t know anyone else that’s gets as many outages
as Virgin do. Must be nearly a whole month in the last year when I haven’t had internet and tv with virgin media.
Anyone got any recommendations for a different provider with fewer problems?
