Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

This morning I've received a pile of post which included three letters for my neighbours, and one for someone at a completely different address in another street!

And on Tuesday morning I posted two 'large letters' to my son in Manchester, one 1st class to arrive in time for Valentine's Day and one 2nd class as it was not urgent. I even took them to the Post Office to beweighed and measured, to ensure they were correctly stamped. Both arrived together on Thursday, so there's obviously no point paying the extra for 1st class these days!!

I recently had an issue where the postie used the wrong "while you were out" card, which told me that my parcel was at Page Green Sub Post Office in South Tottenham, rather than where the parcel actually was, the Delivery Office in Tufnell Park.  This, compounded with me going on holiday and Page Green PO being unexpectedly "closed for a routine audit" on the morning I took time off work to fetch the parcel the first time resulted in me having to beg them (through the complaints line) to hold onto the parcel an extra day in Tufnell Park to avoid it being sent back to the sender.

For reference, I was told by the people at Page Green PO that N4 parcels are "never" taken to Page Green, only N15 parcels go there, so if you live in N4 and get a Page Green card, it's worth using the tracking service (if you can) or phoning them to check where the parcel is before making a journey to collect.

Either I was stood behind you in the Tufnell Park office on Saturday (or was it Saturday week) or you are not the only person with that issue!

Saturday at something like 8.10 am? Yep, that was me.

Yep I had the same issue. Resulted in a 3 hour round trip as I was doing  it all on foot

I love in N15 but when I went to pick up a parcel a couple of weeks ago they told me a new manager had accidentally put it in the returns bag and I would bed to call the number on the card to locate it. Which I did, only to be told that without a tracking number they couldn't help me. I had no idea what it was, let alone whether it had a tracking number.

The following weekend (I can only get to the post office some Saturday mornings) I went back to Page Green and they managed to find it this time.

I keep receiving post for someone in a street parallel to mine

We live on Hewitt and have received a letter for the same number, but Seymour. Also, a friend sent a birthday card for my daughter last week - with a Hamley’s voucher - and it didn’t arrive.

Anyone else having post problems?

Today I got a letter posted through the door inside another envelope marked 'sorry - opened in error, delivered to wrong address'. So now I wonder how much of my post is accidentally ending up elsewhere.

Yep. We constantly have post for other streets put through our door. Same number, but any other random road. It’s hugely irritating!

I live in a small block of seven flats and our letter boxes are on a wall outside. Although the boxes are clearly numbered I've lost count of the number of times I've found post for neighbours in my box and had to pop it into theirs. This is no big deal to do, but can I trust everyone in the block to do the same with my mail? Worse, if the mail doesn't fit into the box, instead of leaving a card and taking back the mail some of the relief posties will leave it hanging out of the box so it can be stolen by local kids who hang around outside.

Apart from a certain laziness to this I see the way posties have to rush around to cover four miles of street per hour as part of the problem. Royal Mail have imposed an impossible target on their workers to meet these targets and corners will be cut. It's unhealthy for the workers and mistakes will be and are being made.
