And here's the response from the local Labour Party: Response to S Times article

Interesting that the reporters apparently did not bother to contact the local party to give them a chance to answer the rather serious allegations against named individuals. Not what old-fashioned reporters were trained to do in my day ...

This -  https://schoolsweek.co.uk/pay-scales-for-teachers-and-leaders-in-en... - says that teacher / headteacher salaries are set nationally, so nothing to do with councils (other than academies etc which, again, are outwith council control).

The rebuttal statement is signed by Celia Dignan and Russell Dove who chair (respectively) the Hornsey and Wood Green (HWG) Constituency Labour Party and the Tottenham Constituency Labour Party. It was posted by Nick Peacey who is a long standing Labour Party member and a member of the Executive Committee of HWG Party.

What is the Labour Party proposing in its manifesto for May? Nobody knows because it hasn't yet been written. Currently members were invited to send in suggestions.

Is the Labour Party at any level "proposing to cut salaries of all council employees earning over £60k". No.
Does the Council even have the power to impose a blanket cut on the salaries of headteachers? No. (Whoever informed the Sunday Times clearly doesn't understand or couldn't be bothered to find out about school governing bodies and how salaries are set.)

Is Momentum scary? I'm not a member but yes I think they probably scare members of the Tory Party. Good.
Also the right-wing in the Labour Party who for years have been used to a hollowed out membership with very few active members. Momentum have been one factor in helping Labour grow into a large and genuine membership organisation.

I'm not afraid of democracy. I am afraid of the Tories. And authoritarian right-wingers who wear red rosettes and believe in and carry though Tory policies.

The fact that Nora is their only source, repeatedly, would surely give you cause to question it. Knowing in Harringay what she and her husband did in 2013 I am feeling sorry for her and I think that someone else is putting her up to it (Claire Kober, Sally Mulready). It beggars belief that she has the gaul to do this, it is just incredible.

The papers are currently printing complete rubbish about this. If the fact that Nora is an unchecked source for them and last time involved actual fraud and a police investigation which never made anything other the Private Eye doesn't give you pause for thought then we need a catch up.

with credentials like that how does she manage to have  her membership renewed?

If people find what Nora Mulready writes of no value, then why read her?

With endless real world problems to tackle, why should Labour waste time and effort expelling party members?
Debate doesn't mean monologue. Dissent was woven into the fabric of the Labour Party from its beginnings.

In any case the right-wing media will usually have no problem finding someone to quote who supports their preferred version of events. If they can't, don't they make it up anyway?

Are you talking about the Guardian? I'm finding their constant war mongering a bit right-wing to be honest. Anyway, they didn't quote Nora, The Times did.

Why is it just as bad? Loads more members (as I've been asking for for years), huge meeting attendance and really strict ID checks etc. Seven Sisters, not so much.

She has a very slender Ali Gul Ozbek sized majority for the HDV and look at his selection...

"Momentum is ignoring the views of working class people by intervening in North London housing" headline for Nora Mulready's article on the Independent website posted yesterday spotted today.
