Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Cafe Tramp has closed for a refurbishment to become a fish and kebab bar.

Will be interesting to see how much they change the decor, given the effort put into it in the first place.

I can't imagine Hashtag will be too pleased about another fish place so close but we'll have to see exactly what it turns out like.

Don't think they were    the buggers.......   entirely.

True Gordon - I think they offered a customised service.

I think it would work better as a bar that also serves up tapas or small plates - a bit like Pix Carnaby:

Now open again, much as before, no kebab bar yet, and not a Turkish menu either - see here for more   http://www.harringayonline.com/forum/topics/cafe-tramp-now-serving-...

I'm just waiting for the inevitable final closure.

It's a salutory lesson in how not to start up a restaurant. After spending what seemed like 18 months doing the decor, when they finally opened, they messed up with the food, service and other details at the beginning, no doubt putting off a lot of return trade - having had a not-very-good experience for some £70-£80, we never went again, and we can't have been the only ones - other people on here were also disappointed with their first experiences.

If we'd really enjoyed our first visit we would as a couple have been back regularly, plus met friends there and brought family at other times - at their (former) prices that's maybe a couple of thousand quid they lost just from us since it's been open.

I know there is a small section of Harringay online that seems to want and enjoy failure

I'm glad they've dropped the 'cafe' from their name. Either that or the sign fell off the front.

Because it's just not right unless it's a generically chosen name with three fonts on a black background.

At least, that's what the brand expert I found on fiverr told me... and he lives in Clapton.

Glasshouses, Paul.

still so salty Phil?

Consensus is that this is not Phil. ;)
