Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi all,

Last night we had someone break into our car and root around a bit. Weirdly the only thing that was taken was a nice thermos flask - they left the phone charger and phone holder attached to the windscreen.

Suspect it was a bit of opportunism looking for something actually valuable - anyone else noticed behaviour like this locally?

Cheers!

There's a low level of such crime all over London. Actually it's not too bad on the Ladder. The local bobby provides a blow-by-blow account every month at the LCSP meeting.

We had a spate of these breakins at Seven Sisters recently.  It seems to have eased off though that's tempting fate.  Fifteen cars in one small area so presumably someone local.  This time (!) I had to claim as they broke TWO of my windows, maybe on the way there and back again?

They are looking for satnavs and that handful of coins in the ashtray for parking meters. So now I've cleared out all the odds n sods left around, and leave the glove box and ashtrays wide open.  If we all never leave anything, hidden or not, that will fetch  a few pounds in the pub, they will stop trying.

Live from PC Glyn Kelly at the LCSP meeting, there have been five thefts from motor vehicles on the Ladder over the past 5 weeks. Apparently that's about the Ladder average.

So cool that we are above average.

My friend's car had some things taken when he was staying last week. Again, just the change for parking meters/bridge tolls and the car manual. I'm not sure if he reported it to the police or not as he blamed himself for possibly not locking the car properly.
