Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi there, we need to replace our bay sash windows in the kitchen with double glazed ones and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations of reasonable companies who might do this? I can see lots of people recommended Ames, but they only do pvc ones.

Thanks!

If you get stuck, I can point you to a neighbour who's just had theirs done on Hewitt.

We used Acorn, who are based on the Ladder.

We used a guy called Marek from PM Sash Windows. He came highly recommended to us and was excellent.

Thanks everyone!

I just called Marek and he was here giving me a quote after half an hour! Really nice guy. Will try Acorn too.

What are you doing with the old sash windows? Are you looking to get rid of them? If so, I may be interested.

I have been told we can reuse the existing frames and just change the inside bits and change the weights, so I doubt anything is reusable. If not, I will let you know!

ah, got it... I thought  you were replacing the whole thing and was interested in the frame. never mind!

I used Camden Box Frame in Camden who made up for their less than sparkling customer service with really beautifully made and excellently installed Windows. I also used Stroud Green windows who were truly dreadful... made single pane sashes when I wanted 2 panes top and bottom... then made a warped set of french windows that left a 3" gap at the bottom... had to get someone else in to make good their botches
I also used Acorn and was very pleased with the result

We used Acorn and they did a really good job to refurbish some quite knackered windows  - at a tiny fraction of cost of replacement.

Jay Sinclair (found from recommendations on this site) refurbished our sash windows and did a great job for a reasonable price.

I used Stroud Green Windows and have to say they were excellent and an extremely good price
