Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Living as I do just adjacent to the festival site, although I can't see (for the trees) what is going on over there, I can certainly hear it.

The first things I heard were pneumatic tools and saws. Now they could be being used to build the barriers, saws to cut the timber and air spanners to bolt it all together. But looking at the erected  barriers on Sunday they look as though they are not newly built. So what was the sawing all about? Not the trees surely?

And then there is the areas as marked on the map. No-where on there does it mention that the lower end of the park road, from the basket ball courts to the Oxford road gate, is a no-go area for vehicles. H&S will be the excuse given I expect as they seem to have a base camp set up on the hard standing next to the road there. By why would they need it? Of all the concerts that have taken place in the park I have never seen this piece of road commandeered in this way. So why now? And the amount of use it was getting certainly didn't warrant this section to be closed. Just one man (who was already sitting there waving drivers away) could come out and temporarily stop any traffic if need be.

So already the agreed rules are being bent a little.

Just heard an almighty crash, breaking glass, and seen someone run past and down the road. Other people in the street stopped and looked so I took a look out the window. Vandalism. He'd tipped two recycling bins over onto the street. Why?

I wonder what time the road sweepers will come round? And will they pick up/clean up that mess? Who do I report that to?

Somebody has picked up the bins and cleared (most) the mess. Hearing clunks and bangs, when I looked out I suspect it was the four people walking away up the road.  So there are some good guys out there.

I thought it was brilliant. Rudimental, for free, in my garden! Woohoo!

Kanye didn't go down so well, apparently…. ranting and booing reported!

Would that be the last act? I did notice that there wasn't much cheering or clapping and certainly at the end there was deadly silence when they finished. Usually there's a big roar at the end of the gig.

Yeh, he was headlining. Apparently he will be again today so will be interesting to see if he does a repeat of this! I thought the evening ended quietly for some reason!

No - it's Bruno Mars tonight, and Outkast so am hoping the wind will be in my direction so I'll be able to hear a bit better than last night! Mind you, if I get a blast of Robin Thicke I won't be so happy...

I got that wrong then! According to what I read, it's Kanye again but that must be wrong. Thought it odd to have the same act twice.

I think you're a day behind Ruth. Kanye was on fri and sat night. Rant was Friday night! Not sure if he ranted at all last night..... did hear him from n15 with a few naughty words though :-D

I'm surprised I'm not more than a day behind at my age! Oh dear… misled by Facebook! It popped up like it was last night. I'll just leave it to the young 'uns.

:-D

I think I got my information from the telegraph website (and the safety of my bed)....

Why is he wearing a hood over his face?
