10 years on, I too would like to see the GL Food Festival back!
Why not make this an annual summer Event for all the public and not just paying ticket-holders?
Occasional road-closures represent a welcome return of publicly-owned land for (brief) use by all residents and not just vehicle owners, most of whom are passers-through of our Borough:

Some councils are making it easier to close roads for residents.
The previous Administration started the Food Festival, but possibly under the influence of their conservative Highways Department, they were later abandoned.
Hopefully the new and improved Administration may take a fresh approach.

Street party would be brilliant. In the meantime I've added an extra couple of miles to my cycle commute home by cruising up Wightman down to Green lanes and back up on to the Ladder, looking at all the houses that have been renovated and greeting passers by/ workers manning the roadblocks. It was a lovely evening yesterday.
