Well I've also just sat in the traffic on the bus from Manor House tube to the Salisbury took half an hour. If the parking were suspended other vehicles could at least go round buses when they stopped and keep the traffic queue moving

How long would the bus journey normally take at this time Antoinette?

I don't regularly take the bus on a Sunday at that particular time but I would normally allow under 10 minutes....The last mile by bus took longer than the entire tube journey to South Kensington
According to Tfl bus timetables the journey time from Manor House to the Salisbury is 5 mins, Google maps say 4 mins
Wow, have they got it wrong! I often work Sunday morning and get the bus from Manor House to the Green Lanes postoffice coming home. I've frequently given up and got off at Harringay GL station as the traffic goes nowhere. My journey today (at about 2:45) was no worse than normal, took about 15 minutes.
I agree with you about the bus lane. The southbound traffic was frequently held up by buses having to pull back I to the traffic.
Took about 15 minutes but you had to walk the last bit.. I didn't have that option today and travelling 10 blocks in 15 mins is a joke

that's been true of the northbound bus from Manor House every time I've taken it in the last week, at various different times in the afternoon.

You may now beat not just the bus you see on leaving the tube station by walking, but catch up with two or three others in the traffic before you reach Harringay Green Lanes.  

There seems to be something particularly appalling about Sunday afternoons. I've been doing the journey at more or less the same time since summer last year and it's sometimes been so bad the buses can't even get onto Green Lanes from the other side of the Manor House junction. I was siting on the upper deck yesterday and watched cars jockeying for position on the Grand Parade stretch, waiting for someone to move out of a parking space so they could get into it (and quite a number just cutting straight across the road to park on the opposite side from the direction they were travelling in)
It would be a useful experiment if maybe for one Sunday, parking was suspended for the whole day and the southbound bus lane remained in force, just to see what the impact on the traffic flow would be,
If I'm honest I'm much more concerned about how the traffic is Monday to Friday. I've always assumed that the traffic on Sundays was directly related to the CPZ not being operationAl on Sundays. It's the only day of the week I have 3ver had difficulty parking.

I asked the council if they'd considered changes to GL whilst WR was closed ie, full time bus lanes and suspension of parking, they replied by saying that there isn't enough road space for a Northbound bus lane. This didn't really answer my questions.

Sunday afternoon on Green Lanes is a graphic representation of their priorities regarding car parking and bus journeys. Incompetent doesn't cover it. They know.
So you might know, Jono.... I've asked this question a couple of times but got no response from anyone....why do the traders views on Green Lanes hold so much sway? Instead of campaigning to keep Wightman Rd closed (after spending £3.5m on a new bridge) we should be campaigning to make Green Lanes a red route with bus Lanes operational mornings and afternoons.
