What Do you Get for Parking on a Big Fat Yellow Line in Harringay?
A big fat fine?
I'm slightly worried about what it signifies about my mental health, but I'm noticing some rather funny yellow lines as part of the resurfacing on Green Lanes. The other day it was a double yellow line that appeared to no longer protect the approach the the pedestrian crossing outside the Salisbury.
Today I noticed a rather odd stretch of double width single yellow line. Was it supposed to be double or does it just signify that parking on it out of hours means a big fat fine?

It's really odd - notice how the start lines up with those white marks on the kerb? Double (with no gap)?

Several years ago I asked about those cryptic temporary pavement markings. In general the white marks are instructions to the contractors about what needs to be painted. In the example below SY = Single Yellow. The double vertical line showed the double end lines for a parking bay (PB).
The weirdest Haringey markings I've seen were these. They've long since gone. But the view over London from Hillfield Park is worth a short detour if you're up on Muswell Hill on a clear fine day.
