The restoration of the old department store is still pending, but now there is a new 'temporary' market opening next week. In the space in the middle of the row, there is now an outdoor market and some indoor shops. After 5 long years, the iconic Seven Sisters Market (Latin Village / Pueblito Paisa) is coming back, opening its doors to the public on the 1st of September – and within it, we're opening a brand-new community space right at its heart! 🫶✨ This is a joint project by LBH, who now believe in the project, TFL who own the site, and the Wards Corner Community Benefit Society. (If you're been elsewhere for the [ast few years. Wards Corner is at the junction of Seven Sisters Road and Tottenham High Road and West Green Road. A former department store which was closed in 1971 and has been shuttered ever since. The indoor market was closed by covid. There are plans to re-open the Edwardian 3-storey building, it's taking a while. We stopped it being demolished. There's now a 23 storey tower on the corner opposite.) |
