Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The restoration of the old department store is still pending, but now there is a new 'temporary' market opening next week. In the space in the middle of the row, there is now an outdoor market and some indoor shops.

After 5 long years, the iconic Seven Sisters Market (Latin Village / Pueblito Paisa) is coming back, opening its doors to the public on the 1st of September – and within it, we're opening a brand-new community space right at its heart! 🫶✨

This will be your local living room – a place to connect, learn and grow together. From business support 💼 to cultural events 🎶, family space 👶 to sustainability workshops ♻️ – it's for everyone.

This is a joint project by LBH, who now believe in the project, TFL who own the site, and the Wards Corner Community Benefit Society.

I'll try to get more details re any opening ceremonies FYI. Will take some pics of the new space which looks very smart, to follow.

(If you're been elsewhere for the [ast few years. Wards Corner is at the junction of Seven Sisters Road and Tottenham High Road and West Green Road. A former department store which was closed in 1971 and has been shuttered ever since. The indoor market was closed by covid. There are plans to re-open the Edwardian 3-storey building, it's taking a while. We stopped it being demolished. There's now a 23 storey tower on the corner opposite.)

It's on top of 7Sisters tube on Victoria Line, Buses 259, 279, 41, 243, 476,  149, 76,  or overground to South Tottnm and 4-minute walk, or overground to 7Sisters from Harringay or HGY Green Lanes.
