Steve and his brother Gary of Tiled Perfection replaced our front Victorian path this week. They fitted a front Yorkshire stone step - gorgeous! (I didn't think I'd ever wax lyrical over one of those!) and tiled the front door instep after repairing rotten wood supports, laying and cementing a metal support grid and creating a gentle downward instep of tiles that directs any rain by the front door away to the path.
They laid a new foundation with a metal support grid for the main path and after all that settled and hardened came back to lay a beautiful front path.I wanted to keep the Yorkshire stone around the coal hole and front gate step and Steve worked around all of this fitting ribbon edging that is as hard as stone - those damn Haringey dustbin trolleys! They are as hard as the cement at the Pantheon in Rome and we know how long THAT's been around! The tiles are French and are going to last as long as the previous ones laid in 1895! The finish is truly excellent!
So nice to have people that don't take short cuts and who have proper standards. He obviously takes great delight in restoring the original look of these houses on the Ladder. They just got on with it and finished in record time. If you do use them... please arrange car parking for their van (some people don't!!!) and I found they appreciated regular cups of tea as per usual hosting.
Such a relief! Recommended unreservedly.

thanks for posting- on my wish list - looks great
Hi Barbara, I'm just wondering if you are still happy with the job that Tiled Perfection did? Thanks
Without any hesitation Andrew. In fact..recently I contacted Steve about the hall tiling inside which he mentioned at the time of doing our path and instep would clean up nicely. I later texted him asking him to remind me what he had suggested but he insisted on coming back for free and spending a morning cleaning and sealing it! SO if you do use him please remember me to him and say how pleased I am. It makes me happy every time I see it !
