As most people are now aware, there have been a number of victims of the person killing cats and other animals including rabbits and foxes in the greater London area. We are working with the police to identify the culprit/s and we strongly advise you to keep your cats in 24/7 if possible, or only let them out under supervision and certainly keep them in overnight.
PLEASE KEEP THIS LEAFLET SAFE SO THAT YOU WILL KNOW WHAT TO DO:
If you see anyone behaving suspiciously with a cat, please call 999 (this advice comes directly from the police) immediately and report it. Likewise if you see anyone with a knife or bladed weapon, dial 999.
If you see any domestic or wild animals who have been injured or found dead with: slashed neck/ decapitation, slashed belly, leg and/or tail removed or any other injury which looks like it is a knife wound, please contact us on 07961 030064 or 07957 830 490 immediately. Please connect with us via our Facebook Page: South Norwood Animal Rescue and Liberty – SNARL to stay informed about what is happening, and to help us to spread the word.
Please also report the finding to the police either by calling 999 if you are at the scene or 101 if it is some time since you saw/ found the body and/or parts.
It is ABSOLUTELY VITAL that the animal is safeguarded and we will come out, even if it is after hours to collect any body and/or body parts for examination by the vet working on this case. If the animal is still alive please take him or her straight to a vet for treatment and call us as soon as you can.

Sadly, if you follow SNARL's Facebook page, it has spread in other areas, including ours :( http://www.harringayonline.com/forum/topics/cat-possibly-killed-del...
"autopsies on the bodies that were retrieved have shown they were killed with a bladed instrument". In the Croydon area, yes.
But in the Finchley/Tottenham/N22 incidents too?
The Evening Standard report (http://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/two-cats-found-dead-believed-t...) quotes Boudicca Rising from SNARL saying she could 'guarantee' the Tottenham Hale case was linked. Presumably this is because of something distinctive about the way the cats are dismembered or mutilated. Nothing mentioned about Finchley or N22.
Both Finchley and Tottenham are with vets/RSPCA for autopsy.
Both cats had similarities to South London killings which make it suspicious.
N22 unknown . Not reported to them Have asked Liz to get in contact . Which was what my post was trying to highlight.
i.e. Please contact them so they can get the body to their and /or RSPCA vets.
It really is not scaremongering, I am sorry to say. I saw Liz who started the above tread just after she saw the cat( the one I posted earlier in my comment). She was shaken. The idea to start the tread here was mine, to raise awareness. She didn't want to put details, as it was too gruesome, but it definitely wasn't a fox or a dog attack.
Hi
I have had confirm from SNARL today that I can post that the Finchley cat Maverick is now confirmed as linked by post mortem and was definitely killed by a human.
The same vet has been conducting all the pm.
The Tottenham and Edgware cats are too soon to tell as bodies were only obtained this weekend. (when I posted this) but their wounds and other indications are almost certain they were not a fox or RTA.
SNARL are working closely with the police on all these cases to appease any concerns you have on police involvement. You can confirm this with the police if you wish. The RSPCA are now onboard too.
HI Violet
SNARL would really like to hear form Liz. I have tried to contact her and understand she may be shaken but if she could supply the police ref and details from council. IfThis will help SNARL as if they still have the body they were checking for a chip this could really help. Please ask her to contact them on the numbers above. Or PM means I can pass on. They would like to rule this out, but until they have more details, it's unfortunately a ? case.
