So last week I found 5 small to medium sized toads in a meter square patch of my flower bed, which at the time seemed quite a lot!
Today I have just found 16 tiny toads on the patio at the side of my house! I collected them up and moved them to safety as they were dangerously close to drains etc.
They are very cute :) Hope they all survive so that they can feast on my slug and snail population!

Here's what Pinethicket spends their time doing on Wikipedia.
The same goes in our garden too, lots of things for our 2 year old daughter to see! Nice to see wild life living in the garden. Which suggest that we are not placing anything that is lethal to them.
All over our back and front gardens too. Have seen some large toads recently in our back garden and was assuming these were their offspring.
Wonderful collection of toadlets, very encouraging. I've found them to be pretty regular visitors (and inhabitants) to my garden.
As for the 'plagues of frogs', this is a curious phenomenon on the Ladder - particularly along the passage - you sometimes see around this time of year. On some years I've seen astonishing numbers of frogs (of all sizes) at night during or after particularly heavy rain.
Where do they come from - the New River?
"this is a curious phenomenon on the Ladder - particularly along the passage - you sometimes see around this time of year...during or after particularly heavy rain."
Exactly. They come in the rain. Wait till people find out, its going to be the next big thing that helps make Harringay famous.
I hope Harringay doesn't become famous for toads, because someone will then scoop them all up and auction them for several hundred thousand pounds
They're brilliant! Thanks for putting the picture up, it's really made me smile.
Ah glad to hear that Harringay is full of fellow toad lovers :)
