Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Is this really what it has come down to. I mean I was explaining to the nice man in veola today, why would anyone want to pinch my green recycling bin. And then he reminded me that I would now have to pay £30 for a new one. The person who took my bin clearly knew when collections were as it was not long after it had been emptied and i had put it back in its proper place. What a load of toss. Why would i want to pay £30 just so it can be stolen again

So be warned, make sure you clearly label all your bins

no the night before, and I dont think they would have traveled  that far, No i think it is probably very local to me, I mean why would you bother otherwise, but then i could be wrong,

Bin broken, landlord tells tenants they have to pay for  a new one etc etc, best thing is grab someone else's which is empty and clean- heyho- result

Walk the passage and find yourself a freebie. There's one on Hampden I think.

Somehow I doubt very much if the troglodyte who stole your bin is likely to be looking in here...

I realize that. Just highlighting a problem

I live on the Passage and was awoken circa 4 a.m. by someone dragging a green bin north from N4 to N8 a couple of nights ago. I thought it must have been stolen -- why would someone be moving one of these other than from a front garden to the street?

I noticed a few successful and attempted thefts of window boxes a few days ago on my street - soil on the cill, broken pots underneath. Could have been using a wheelie bin to transport them. I asked someone in the gardening trade why anyone would bother (nicking window boxes that is) and he said a nice terracotta one, planted up, sells quite well on EBay.
One of the successful ones was mine!

or car boot sales.  No postage involved.

Thanks for the toptip about the lonely bin on Hampden rd. After lugging the bin all the way down the bottom of the ladder, I got home only to see it had a rather tired looking 40 painted on it. So I then went back and checked all the houses numbered 40 on the ladder to make sure they had a bin. It's now rehoused and renamed and not going anywhere.. my bins now glow in the dark
Yes I am on the passageway so easy pickings
