Tips to Beat the Tube Strike from Harringay?
This may be a question to an echo chamber, but if you have any tips for travel survival during the tube strike, please do share.

Julie Randles: I work in Farringdon and took exactly the same route as normal - walk to Finsbury Park, Victoria Line to Kings' Cross, Hammersmith and City line to Farringdon. The Northern Line is running a normal service too.

The Moorgate line is my preference. Best early/late in/out I would imagine. If you work in Central London you can change at Finsbury Park for Kings Cross. If you use the back streets (i.e though Bloomsbury and Fitzrovia) it's a pleasant 30 minute walk to Oxford Circus. Walkit.com has a good route planner where you can pick direct routes, quiet routes or less polluted routes

I couldn't get on the trains at Harringay to Moorgate at 7:30. Buses were not stopping outside Batclays on Green Lanes as they were full. Tried the train again at 8:40 and was fine. Have a lie in is my advice!

I agree. I got on the delayed 9.07 (actually turned up at about quarter past) and it was slightly busier than usual, but I had a seat at Highbury. That said, it travelled very, very slowly into Moorgate, so it took more like 25 minutes than the usual 15. I'm more concerned about getting home to be honest - I'm supposed to be in Camden for something this evening and my husband travelled back from there starting at about 11pm last night and didn't make it home until nearly 1am - he would've walked if the weather hadn't been so terrible - he waited over an hour for a bus and then ended up "ambushing" (in a friendly way) a taxi at a petrol station and sharing it with a random bloke he'd met at the bus stop!

I had to let loads of buses go by at Barclays this morning before I could get one at about 6.15 . Having said that once I was on it was fine. I have several possible routes to work so decided to catch first one I could then plan route from there. Most people got off the bus at Manor House anyway.
We had a huge conference this morning and several attendees from somewhere in Yorkshire who managed to get in on time yet people from Chiswick were over an hour late.

Did anyone get a train from green lanes station this morning? Contemplating attempting the journey to hammersmith via the overground and Kensington Olympia tomorrow.....

Sorry this reply is a bit late but you may need the advice next week.
From my observations and members reports, morning services to Gospel Oak were rammed until 10:00. However, since a lot of people were getting off at South Tottenham to walk to Seven Sisters, you might be able to squeeze on at Harringay Green Lanes. Also getting onto a westbound North London Line train at Gospel Oak was very slow. Best advice is travel between 10:00 - 16:00 and after 18:30.
London Overground had lots of extra staff at stations and even managed to squeeze some extra trips out of their tiny 8-train Barking - Gospel Oak 2-coach diesel fleet. Anyone using the Barking - Gospel Oak Line should keep an eye on our website www.barking-gospeloak.org.uk and perhaps register on our 'Have your say' message board.

I've been looking at the olde Twitter and it seems that FCC trains won't be running between FP and Moorgate tomorrow morning, at least until 0700, but possibly until 0800. It says that tickets will be accepted on buses (for all the good that'll do you based on today's reports!)
They're planning to keep the line open this evening, though.

P.S. Highbury & Islington station is closed for FCC at the moment (but Overground is still stopping, with a different entrance/exit from usual).
