From The Trees of St Ann's project
Welcome to the Trees of St Ann's project, funded by the Forestry Commission Community Grant Scheme.
The objectives of the project include:
* Increased understanding and information about the trees at St Ann's, including labelling
* Harvesting, tasting and cooking the fruits
* Social events which encourage the hospital community and the local community to forge new links
* Extra care of the trees
* Researching the history of the site and the planting of the trees
The project was launched on 12 October with a guided walk by local botanist David Bevan, attended by 60+ people including many of you. There will be another public guided walk on
19 January to which you are warmly invited.
Meanwhile, if you are interested in finding out more about the project please get in touch. Our email is: info@treesofstanns.org.uk
Mobile number: 07973 733239.
The 'tree team' includes current and former mental health service users, and we particularly want to encourage others to be involved. We are hoping to create a display about the project at St Ann's.
We will be holding informal meetings once a fortnight and we very much welcome your ideas and input, large or small. Please email if you think may be interested in being part of this project info@treesofstanns.org.uk
We look forward to hearing from you!
