The Trading Standards Office are making people aware of the following scam:
A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906-6611911 (a premium rate number). DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize. If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £15 for the phone call.

Please pass on particularly to any elderly neighbours..Thanks Glyn
Er Glyn, I think this is the same scam as Hugh posted here and I believe it is a little out of date. Unless you know different?
You may be right Liz although it may still be going on as this was circulated internally to all Haringey Police today.
On a side note, I didn't think it was possibe to get charged that much in one hit - unless you left the line open for a while and it slowly racked up the charges? I think the most expensive numbers are charged at around £1.50 or so per minute.
