Now that the Scottish Episcopalians are going to celebrate marriage with gay abandon, maybe we can invite them to take over all the churches of Westminster and Harringay. By the way, are they the SNP at prayer?
Once again, the 'First Past The Post' electoral system has failed to elect a government.
Like in other European elections over the past few months, nationalists have lost the argument.
I'd like to repeat my point from yesterday.
In a PR system, the tories with 43% of the vote would have been the winners and able to choose their partners in government. At the moment they look like sad losers. In a PR system, the same is true for Labour with 37% of the vote. If they can form a coalition, then so be it, as long as the government has at least 51% of vote behind it.
This is the second time in eight years, that this has happened. It's obvious to me that concensus politics is what is needed. Politics for the majority, by the parties in government and not from the 'Press Barons'.
Dear Billy,
I hope you are older than seven! (2010 Cameron gov)
If you are older than 21 you managed to catch another during the Major government (Dec 1996).
I have notched up five.
Where are all these unstable coalitions Billy..? My country has had coalitions since 1949 and it certainly hasn't done any harm at all. You seem to miss the point totally on coalitions. Preferring one party forcing its will on up 60% of other voters, rather than seeking consensus and governing for all the people.
Anyway, I would hardly have called the last tory government stable..
This cobbled up ToryDUP 'stich up'* won't last past the #Brexit negotiations.. The DUP calls for a fixed border in Ireland will be voted down. At least not all Tory MPs have lost their minds. *your words, not mine.
David Lammy is in such a safe seat he doesn't have to worry about what people think.
