hello everyone,
i’m looking for some advice regarding people drinking on the street right outside the entrance to the ground floor flat I’ve been renting for a while. In the past few months I’ve been struggling with people using the front space outside my flat entrance for drinking. It happens mainly on friday/saturday nights, though also on different occassions. It’s not any people who live in this property, just the random passerby since there’s a 24/7 shop with alcohol across the road. They are usually noisy and leave empty cans and bottles on my doorstep. I have tried to be reasonably patient but i just can’t accept it anymore. I’m not sure what it’s best to do when it happens again, should I call the police or the council? Also i’m trying to figure out what can be done to prevent this from happening over and over again as it’s really frustrating. I would be grateful for any advice!!!

Sorry Pola. There may be no easy answer to that. I would seriously consider moving.
It’s worth talking to,the Safer Neighbourhoods Team. They have local drop in sessions. Link below Scroll to the bottom of the page.

Hi Pola,
I second Michael's suggestion below. Which road are you on?

Hi Pola,
Could you email me please on david.schmitz@haringeylibdems.org and provide your phone number?
Alternatively, just let me know where this is happening and the time of evening when it's at its worst so that I can have a look myself.
As it happens there is a meeting later this month of the ward panel that liaises with the police safer neighbourhoods team. Karen and I sit on that panel and we can bring it up then if you like.
Best,
David
