Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I wonder what is the history of this image on this Stanmore Road shop wall, anyone?

I think the pub on the corner near there used to be called the Goat.

It is by local artist James Straffon of the Turnpike Art Group.

It was crowdfunded by locals about 5 or so years ago.

Most of the local street art (particularly the animals) are by James.

and the theme for the other paintings is endangered species, and related to the people who own the houses that have been painted e.g.  Elephant, red panda, lima monkeys(?)

Have a walk on Langham rd, the three  mentioned above are fantastic pieces of art,  but my personal fave is the American bison on Etherley rd

There's also an Orangutang to replace the Banksy up on Turnpike Lane/ high street, but not sure if that's part of the same series?
