Probably because any engagement with you makes both of you look unelectable. Perhaps someone has advised him and he has listened?
"So Clive do you deny the allegation that your local candidates in Harringay have told the Turkish Cypriot population in Harringay that voting Lib Dem will support the lifting of the trade embargo on North Cyprus?"
Great technique Emina,
1) ask a question as if you already know the answer (assertion by implication)
2) when challenged, defend yourself by stating that you were "only asking a question" (outright lie)
3) proceed in your argument as if the first assertion/qustion had been proved ("it may not be D or K who are the culprits but others in the LibDems") (false premise followed by deflection)
I am not a supporter of the LibDems, but since they seem unable to identify your logical pretzel for what it is and therefore have missed the opportunity to take a bite out of it, I reckon it is fair game. Nice try, Emina. You're not as artless as you look.

Last line: "Miaow "
Lydia, what a superb demonstration of How To Pile up the Votes by showing your real self to people.
Alan:
I haven't yet decided how I will vote but I would prefer to be represented by someone who can express him/herself clearly and logically. I'm sure Emina is a very nice, sincere person, but how long do you think she would last in the bearpit that is the Council Chamber ? I suspect that " no, what I really meant was ...... " would not wash.
But, to digress slightly, why is poor Emina being left to carry the burden ? Where is Gina ?
And where is the social media guru James Ryan?
Twittered?
Yes,where is Gina? That's a good question. The last time I saw / heard from her was she had the audacity to turn up and heckle Lydia at the Harringay hustings. A couple of residents later told me that they very unhappy at her behaviour.
John, the Council chamber is not a bearpit. It's a piece of very bad pantomime with lousy actors and an excruciating script.
James Ryan used to be one of the scriptwriters. As the so-called Political Assistant to the Labour Group part of his job was to write briefing notes for the councillors who the whips asked to speak, and/or ask soft questions to the "cabinet" councillors. Many though not all of my former colleagues simply read these out.
I gather from talking privately to one or two LibDem councillors that they ran much the same system.
The key problem for Haringey is the Leader/cabinet system and the unchecked concentration of power in the hands of Claire Kober and her chums. It meant they control far too many of the levers of decision-making, sources of information; and of patronage. They run things with a lack of openness and transparency; bereft of vision and unable and unwilling to learn. Kober has the power and privileges of a mayor with - as far as I can see - none of the checks and balances.
If - as Labour appears to expect - the Party retains control of the Council with a larger majority then her position and power will be confirmed. As will that of Cllr Joe Blusterberg who will no doubt claim the credit for the victorious campaign.
In Harringay ward I entirely understand why people would think that voting for James Ryan or Gina Adamou is likely to be a vote for the status quo. And endorsement of another four wasted years - a waste not mainly of money, but of the real opportunities for new thinking, new ideas, and new initiatives.
Would having Cllr Emine Ibrahim make the grip of the Dear Leader even tighter? Would she be another Kober glove puppet? I don't think so because I've got to know Emine and I see her as someone with her own solid, clear principles and deep integrity. She showed that integrity and honesty when she stood up against the vote-rigging in St Ann's.
When Emine disagrees with me she lets rip and let's me know it. That's great. I want her and people like her letting rip within the group of Labour councillors.

"showing your real self to people"
I cannot see how logical deconstruction is related to "meow". I rather think that comment shows more about your real self than mine.
Lydia Rivlin: Conservative councillor - Harringay ward.
Hello everyone,
My name is Oktay Sahbaz and I am the TUSC candidate for Seven Sisters. I work as a secondary school teacher in Hackney but lived in Harringay since the age of 10. First of all it will be worth mentioning that as TUSC candidates we have been trying to come face to face with people in our wards through stalls, when leafleting and on our Facebook page SevenSistersTUSC. Just like any of the TUSC candidates I am not a career politician, which means I am NOT just putting my name forward to look good on the council chamber. One other thing to underline between TUSC candidates and others will be, whatever the result is on Thursday, Friday morning we will wake up to defend our schools, parks, youth centres and fight any rent increase, further implementation of bedroom tax and other attacks on public services. Unlike other candidates and other parties, none of us are standing to implement more cuts, privatisation and further damage our local area. This is an important point to understand as most councillors have done this.
I was probably the only candidate to have stalls set up in different parts of the ward. As well having stalls at Tiverton Estates, Chisley road Estates, Seven Sisters station, Manor House Warehouse, I also tried to speak to parents at the local primary schools such as Tiverton, Crowland and Stamford hill, as well as attending the May Fest at the Markfield Park. In talking to many locals it was quite obvious that issues ranged from under investment of parks, opportunities for young people to learn and develop new skills, youth centres, nursery places, lack of affordable and social housing, cleaning, repair, the possible closure of St Ann’s Hospital are very common to all residents of Harringay. If elected, I will ensure council budget in terms of these issues is reviewed and looked at again by an independent body. If needs being I am happy collect petitions from local residents to get this on the table again. Although we were told 4 years ago that the council had no money to spend on these services we are hearing things such as £3.7 million bonuses being paid to the Homes for Harringay managers, council representives paying £13, 000 of the tax payers money to south of France to meet with Spurs representives on the sale of housing Estates in Northumberland Park as well as financing Spurs new ground – which all shows money is available if needed and must be spend on good local public services.
Also point needs to be made about some of the people in this leaflet that is having spoken to one of the person on this leaflet they seem to think complete the opposite of what it says here. We have over the years experienced lots of cover up by the main political parties, including Labour, it now looks this now takes it to another level.
My only suggestion to any voter will be not to vote for councillors who have damaged or have a plan for damaging our local area. Making things worse should not be the aim of any councillor. They should be willing to put up a fight with the local people. Regardless of the result on Thursday, I will wake up on Friday morning willing to put up a fight with anyone who tries to damage our local area.
Thanks,
Oktay Sahbaz
