Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

At Furtherfield Gallery we are looking for volunteers for our 3 day Free Market event that kicks off on Saturday 17th July and will last until Sunday 19th, everyday from 11am until 4pm.

The Market is part of the Museum of Contemporary Commodities project, devised by artist Paula Crutchlow and cultural geographer Ian Cook, from University of Exeter. This and other events are part of the research process that is leading up to a final exhibition, which will take place at Furtherfield Gallery starting from next September.

The MoCC project looks at commodity culture and data exchange in the local area of Finsbury Park. It aims at highlighting the ways different trade and shopping experiences are shaping the physical landscape of this borough. In particular, the Free Market will offer the people a unique chance to discover more about these topics in a funny and interactive way, through hands-on activities and conversations with us.

The volunteers will help us in running the stalls and in other fundamental tasks, such as documentation of the event or engaging the visitors in the park.

You don't need to be available for all the three days, any kind of help is more then welcome!

Please, have a look at the following link to have a glimpse of the activities that will be run. More details will be added during the next week.
