Is it a Roberts ?

If so, it might be worth saving but otherwise bin it.

There is a Small Electrical recycling bin at Sainsbury’s. 
There was one by the entrance to Finsbury Park on Endymion Road (main entrance) but I haven’t been recently to see if stil there.
One also at the Recycling centre in Wood Green.

If you put stuff like this on Gumtree for free someone will probably take it and they will collect too. You just need to make sure you mention that it is for parts or needs repair.

And Gumtree is free to post.

Under the WEEE directive any retailer of electrical goods has a responsibility to take old goods

They don’t make it widely known
