Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

If you're dropping into Railway Fields over the next few days, maybe joining the summer event on Saturday or bringing the kids to Wild Wednesdays, be sure to look at the yellow ragwort, which is abundant along the railway path, to find the splendid cinnabar moth caterpillar.

Excellent pictures!

Wikipedia directed me to this 1831 poem by John Clare:-

Ragwort thou humble flower with tattered leaves
I love to see thee come and litter gold...
Thy waste of shining blossoms richly shields
The sun tanned sward in splendid hues that burn
So bright and glaring that the very light
Of the rich sunshine doth to paleness turn
And seems but very shadows in thy sight.
