When Paul Simon Homes converted the former Citizens Advice Bureau overlooking Ducketts Common they at least provided a basic cooking area in each studio flat. Now, even that's gone.
Fifty years ago as a student I had a room of around the size above, on campus, with the facilities shown. And as a student I paid a pretty nominal rent. But then, I was a student passing through, not living there year-long.
I doubt it'll be the case for the residents in this place in the early 2020s.
And yes there have been attempts to provide this model of living, for example the Isokon flats in Hampstead in the 1930s. But they did not survive in their original form, without kitchens.

Isokon was designed to be more like a luxury long stay hotel with maid service and an on-site restaurant

Apart from the 140 new bedsits they are adding which are smaller than should be acceptable in this century - my biggest issue is lack of new schools. The current ones are already oversubscribed. If you add this to the main Clarendon Rd development and the one behind the mosque on Wightman Rd then there are many hundreds of new families and no extra school places for them.
If Haringey want to increase the population size they need to scale the public services to match. We should reach out to our MP...

Agree. The schools round here are already oversubscribed and none have the space to add bulge classes. Plus this will be another high rise blighting the skyline, right on the junction with Turnpike Lane. 14-storeys is enormous.

Not all the primary schools are oversubscribed, MD. Though it depends partly on what you mean by "round here".

This particular "co-living" housing product is very much targeted at single professionals of a similar age to myself who would otherwise likely be living in shared houses / flats; although with the caveat that depending on the scheme size and location (within London) they are often marketed (and priced) to suit people who are new to London and prioritise quality and convenience above cost.
Like it or not, London will always have a flow of such people, despite the temptation to wish them away to some other hypothetical locale of London.
There are quite a few other similar schemes dotted around London, many are actually quite small and more boutique in nature; but the larger ones are often either in massive regeneration sites which don't quite feel like actual "places" yet (eg The Collective Old Oak) or more central locations that tend to be more expensive (eg The Collective Canary Wharf). This site happens to be at the edge of the Haringey Heartlands, but benefits from being next to the well-established Turnpike Lane, and very near Hornsey.
The relevant London Plan policy (H16) states that such properties may be with or without an en-suite and/or individual cooking facilities. However, it is not clear what ratio of communal facilities [kitchen appliances, lounges, gyms, etc] to residents would be provided. Most schemes will in practice have different room sizes including those for wheelchair users.
FTR, I live in a mostly self-contained flat [own kitchen which is accessed off a shared landing] which is smaller than the units proposed. And I'm not actually registered with a local GP.
