Problems renewing resident qualification to buy visitor parking permits

Anyone else having problems renewing their permits? We're told to do so by the end of Oct but I've tried many times and keep getting this error message-

It was not possible to process this request

Please try again later or contact the Council to discuss this permit renewal

My details haven't changed since last year and I've filled in the online form accurately- I believe.

I will need to buy some some permits after end of Oct. so this is getting frustrating.

I had a similar problem in January.  You have to log into your parking account and then use the on-line contact form to explain what the problem is.  I had a reply "There was a system error preventing you from renewing. We have now renewed your permit."

Thanks for this advice Konrad. I'll give that a try. 

Exactly the same for me, in July. Either it’s a persistent tech failure or intended to make residents contact the council as some kind of double-check. Given all the previous problems with Taranto, the IT firm behind the whole parking permit system, my money’s on the IT failure.

Exactly the same for me, just a day before you posted, Kate. Yesterday evening I had a response to say they had renewed my permit for me, so it is now fixed though with no explanation.

Confusingly, I had been able to renew my Resident Concessionary Qualification.

And you can buy permits now, ahead of when you actually activate them.

I get called all sorts of names Gordon!! No worries. 

I emailed them and they got back to say they renewed it. 

Glad I read this thread, as I had not remembered that my permit needs renewing next week and received no reminder from Haringey. The first time I tried it didn't work, but once I had uploaded my VH5 again it went through.

Judging by reports from several people on HoL such glitches might follow a pattern.
Can I suggest that if other people  come up against a blockage which is not resolved you try contacting one of your ward councillors. If they don't have any experience in dealing with this, then  maybe suggest to them that  they ask for the name of a senior Management member of Parking staff and make a "Member (i.e Councillor)  Inquiry".

As we learned from the Post Office Scandal, machines can sometimes malfunction. It's not  always humans that get it wrong.

Thanks everyone for advice. I filled in online form to say the renewable process wasn't working and now it's all been done, as with others here on this thread. Clearly something wrong with their tech. 

we have found in the past that you cannot buy more than 9.  No explanation, but Computer said ‘No’
