Problem getting through to Haringey by phone this morning? (14 April 2015)

Alan, thanks (I opened both files). I thought it might have something to do with Purdah, but then I heard the explanation that the main Council switchboard number was closed because of a training course (!). I was a little surprised at this as a reason to close all incoming general calls from the public for the morning.

The libraries were also all closed this morning due to 'an important announcement' (from memory, notice at Hornsey Library on Sunday). It is well known I think that staff reductions are in train.....

All Haringey staff including the qualified librarians were no doubt being told they were now "customer service assistants" and handed a generic job description along the lines of 'don't worry, be happy'
