I went past it last night and noticed it had been 'fixed' with a blob of tarmac in the hole. It's a crappy fix and won't last long.

I periodically report the ones just before the pedestrian crossing heading southbound on Green Lanes near the New River. These are bad as you can be going down Green Lanes at some speed with a clear run.

I think they fall under Hackney rather than Haringey but I'm not sure whether there's some dispute on this as it's been bad for years upon years.

They do fall under Hackney's jurisdiction. I can see why Hackney don't give a monkey's about it though. The New River is the boundary.

I've asked one of the councillors over there to take a look but... I suspect he doesn't come down it very much.

I wasn't aware of any doubts or disputes about this at borough level. Though I imagine that not everyone will notice that entry notices to the parking zones are (or maybe were) double-sided. The signs changing depending on which way you're facing.

Sometimes there's problem that overhanging branches from trees in Finsbury Park (entirely in Haringey) can obscure street lighting and make potholes harder to spot - especially on a dark rainy winter evening.

A key issue is that the two boroughs' highways staff should work together: in monitoring; in spotting patterns; sharing information; and liaising on repair works. Maybe they do.

Why would anyone be surprised about regular pothole problems on a main road that takes the pounding this one does? Also that a road next to a park formed from a remnant of ancient woodland might be prone to problems. I tend to assume that medieval farmers and landowners had good reasons not to build on particular land.
