Actually, I would love to know this too. Also, where can you buy malt in such quantities- I often just buy mine form Sainsbury, but there must be a more cost effective place.

Caroline what sorts of stuff do you use it for?

I use it for cooking chutney and pickle, I used to live in France and you could buy it everywhere there, sadly that's a bit of a trek from Harringay.

It is nice to find a fellow pickler, I am curious as to what recipes you use as I use malt in all mine at the moment. I will send you a connector request, and if you are around it would be nice to chat and compare notes.

We buy big 5l containers of white vinegar from the food shops on West Green Road. We use it for cleaning. Is that the stuff you need? Pretty much all the big food stores on WGR sell it.

Thanks, I'll take a look. I can't use malt vinegar as I'm allergic, so fingers crossed it'll be spirit vinegar.
