Did anyone else know that Haringey council are proposing to change the parking permits scheme? According to the proposals the Two hour permits will go, the concessionary age will rise from 60 to 65. They have given 21 days from 2 February for objections yet if I didn’t go to order some visitors permits would not have known. See photo below. Why has Haringey council not advertised this earlier or sent out leaflet? Once again Haringey are sneaking new rules quickly before anyone notices..disgusting!!!

I did that in a subsequent post.... how did you get the email from them in the first place? Am wondering whether they are breaking any regs by not doing proper consultation about this.... it shouldn't just depend on one person getting an email....
It wasn’t a personal email. I’m clearly on some list as a result of something I’ve responded to in the past.
I received an email today as I have purchased visitors permits online. I don't have a car but why should it cost me a fortune for friends to visit. So if to friends come for dinner for 5 hours I would need 10 permits costing me £8. I think that is excessive.
Sadist Kahn and his cronies want London to be a playground for oligarchs and tourists. Sod those that actually live and work here.
Once the fallout from Brexshit is done I'm out of here.
Khan doesn’t set the visitor permit charges. Haringey do.
Humnnn..... not exactly known for favouring residents. i.e.additional garden waste charges and bulk waste charges.
I'm getting a bit sick of falling over fridges littering the pavement.
I think the daily permits are not changing price so £3.50 for a day and they will remove the restrictions on how many you can buy.
I wouldn't grumble if they could do a purchase on demand either with a print at home or registration submission approach. The issue is that it seems to take forever to get the permit issued.
Does anyone know when this will come into effect? I can't see dates on any of the information on Haringey's website.
It's currently a proposal, as I understand it, and I imagine that it needs to be approved before dates are set.
Probably - but things can always change if enough people make enough of a fuss. I think it's a shame if people just shrug their shoulders and walk away.
I too have put in an objection, on much the same grounds. It is wholly unreasonable and will lead to more evasion.
