Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I thought some of you might like to see this quick video I took of the Pemberton Play Street yesterday. I swear none of this was staged, including the impromptu ivory tickling by Nigel!!!

Thanks to everyone who marshalled, and those digging over the upper raised bed for a great tidy and lavender re-plant!

A couple of post play street pictures of the gardeners putting in the lavender and rosemary and clearing the beds - thanks to Matt Cuthbert (pictured) and Mark Smith for pitching in later in the day with Alison, Justin and me to get the Pemberton bed tidy and planted up.

Looks like good fun. Shame we couldn't make it yesterday

Incidentally, was talking to Lauren about getting some needles, wool and chairs and having a bit of a knitting circle-all levels (mine is utterly useless) of expertise with Lauren on hand to teach the smalls, the beginners and the useless. Would be useful if people have wool if they could save it and bring it on the day.

I'm looking forward to meeting Sharon at the next Playstreet too. I guess she'll be easy to spot as the one carrying the big shit-stirring stick.
Lauren, that's so unpleasant and neither fair nor true. Please refrain from communicating with me in any way in future or using my name. I've apologised and been welcomed to the next play street. I feel uncomfortable about the prospect now.

To clarify, I was genuinely interested in meeting the person as audacity is a quality I admire and wondered if they are so bold in person as from behind their keyboard. I do hope they still come because I was looking forward to the conversation and even have some ideas about how they might become involved with addressing the concerns they raised.

Things said in haste and sometimes not always with sufficient thought can so often cause unintended/unwarranted offense- especially when they are said remotely. It is one of the real weakness of a medium like HoL in having lost that visual element that both allows us all to see the other person's non verbal communication, and the moderating influence of being face to face.

To Sharon's credit she has since contacted me privately and peace has broken out between us- as she said earlier we find we have more in common than divides us. With that, lets let this lie and I hope Sharon comes to the next Play Street. I ask only that when folks come they get involved with what is happening around them and keep and open mind...
