Video: Dog mauls our cat to death
Video: Careless owner and dog return next day and enter yard again
Last month, an off-lead dog entered the front yard of our next door neighbours where our cat was relaxing as she usually does and mauled her to death. The owner made very little effort to stop the dog attack and even proceeded to return with the dog the next day to let it roam the front yard again.
Intended to post this last month but have been busy with the police who unfortunately are unable to do anything about the attack as the man is unidentifiable.
Our family is devastated about the loss of our sweet Tiddles who we have had for over 13 years. I feel I would be doing a disservice to the community by not sharing this as next time it might not be a cat, but a young child. To the man who continues to allow his clearly aggressive dog to roam the streets (we have caught it on our doorbell camera), you should be ashamed of your dangerous actions.
This incident occurred on Effingham Road. If anyone happens to recognise the owner or dog please do let us know. Please keep your aggressive dogs on a leash.

Also, if we could provide a dose of cortisol reducing pills and critical thinking skills to tabloid-devouring scaremongers, the world could be a happier place, but here we are.
Should have expected someone to come along and suggest that all dogs be eliminated.
Do we really have to push every topic to the extreme? Can we please focus on the one known dangerous dog, without turning this into some sort of cat vs dog crusade?
Agree! This is a serious topic for the person who started the thread and trying to turn it into a personal comedy sketch is not funny and rather tedious.
WITHOUT that magic wand, any Crusade is unlikely to go far.
However, if we focus on the one known dangerous dog, we are then able to turn a blind eye to the wider context. The rough annual picture in the UK is:
Police-recorded injury incidents … ~30,000–32,000
Hospital admissions … ~8,000–9,000
Fatalities … ~5–15 per year
Great stats. Let's do humans now :) How many fatalities?
And millions of wildlife killed by cats vs dogs?
I love cats btw.
Please don't derail the thread any further.
