Planning to take some friends to the 'new' large Vietnamese restaurant in Green Lanes -Ha Noi Pho. Has anyone tried it? Thanks, Michelle

I had some expensive take away from there a while back and was utterly unimpressed. I love Vietnamese food but this was very poor. Wish I had had curry instead if I am honest. Its a glitzy place- what my wife would describe as "all teeth and eyes"! Have not been back since.
Would love to hear if anyone has had a good experience as I would lie to go back and give it another go, but not sure I want to risk it.
I reckon you got unluckly Jus, judging by the other comments! Maybe something got lost in delivery, so to speak. I've eaten in the original one by the Salisbury a couple of times and really liked it in a simple but honest kind of way. Haven't been to the new one yet but I will soon.
Yes, I must have. I am glad in a way as I want so much to like it and it to succeed. I felt tight saying anything negative. I like the one by the Salisbury too! I shall give it another go!
We ate at the Hanoi Pho at 441 Green Lanes on Saturday in a large group and everyone throught the food was outstanding, can't wait to go back. I'd highly recommend it.
I haven't had food from the other one (near the Salisbury, 1 Grand Parade) but it looks more like a takeout place.
it's good - the 'shaking beef' is a fav. the decor is a bit weird though...
I went there the other Friday because I'd got locked out of my house and my partner was at work. They were really nice - not at all sniffy about giving up a table to a single diner on a Friday evening (which some places are), and it felt absolutely fine eating in there as a woman on my own. The food was good - not the best Vietnamese I've ever had but tasty and good value. The Bun Hue came with plenty of fresh herbs, and the house red was really nice. I'd definitely go back.
Husband and I go there once a week. We LOVE IT!!!
