Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

New Netflix drama series covers drugs investigation and events leading up to 2002 Harringay bloodbath

In 2002 drug turf wars led to something of a bloodbath on Harringay's Green Lanes.

This morning I noticed significanty mdeia coverage of a new Netflix series called Legends that follows a Customs and Excise officer who is tasked with infiltrating an international drug ring. The action apparently focuses on Harringay and Liverpool.

Of course it's not a documentary but I'll watch it for what light it shines on Harringay's recent past.

Don't expect any views of the area though! It's not filmed around here. It is good though.

It’s compelling and frightening. As you say Liz not filmed round here though!

Oooh thanks for the toptip

A very good series, well acted and informative. It was set in the late-'80s, when Thatcher was in her final days.

Well worth a watch. Oh, although they show a place that is meant to be Green Lanes, it doesn't look like it at all.

Are there market stalls in the kerbs of Green Lanes?

I mainly remember the temporary portakabin police office that was anchored in Green Lanes for some weeks afterwards; everyone parked correctly, traffic didn’t speed and politely gave way to others pulling out or turning into/from side roads, and people were on their best behaviour on the street…..
