I'd be interested to know who you originally went with who left you in the lurch Maddy. A lot of us use HoL for recommendations so if you had a bad experience that's also useful to know!

Hi Maddy,

I'm really sorry about the misunderstanding. It wasn't a straightforward case of painting and decorating and if I had known at the time I initially carried out the quote I would have factored in more time to carry out the work. I originally quoted the work as a full day and booked in one day to paint your sons room. Some extra work was later added and the job spec changed, clearing the room, sawing through some exercise bars, helping to dispose of a mattress, move furniture from another room and waiting for your son to arrive to help move a very large shelving unit. I wasn't able to apply a second coat on the first day and came back the following evening to carry out an additional couple of hours and apply a second coat. If I had known this at the time I made the original quote I would have allowed an extra day in order to complete the work.

Apologies for the mix up regarding coming back to apply a third coat, as you are aware I've just sent my mobile phone in for repair and didn't receive your email until earlier today.
