Have you heard of Legible London?
It's a scheme designed to make walking around bits of London (South Bank, West End, Richmond at the moment) a lot easier using 3D representations that give people a quick sense of their bearings and help them locate shops, parks, hotels, landmarks, toilets, Tube stations and other amenities.
As Legible London is introduced, redundant street furniture and the current confusing signage will be removed. The removal of obsolete signs and their replacement with fewer and more attractive, easy to understand, maps should reduce visual clutter and make life easier for pedestrians.
