Lordship Rec is one of eight projects selected nationwide by the Big Lottery Fund, Heritage Lottery Fund and Nesta to take part in a project to fund and support the development of innovative operating models for parks.

Maybe they can sort out the stinky river. What's going with that anyway? Looks toxic.

I think a lot of that is to do with misconnected pipes from properties putting toxic waste water directly into the river.

I do know that Haringey have appointed someone whose job it will be to deal with this and that it is being worked on but, of course, if people don't fix the problem at source that's going to make their job a lot harder. 

That’s great! I often think his good “the hub” is there 

... I wonder what the "innovative" part of the operating model is...

On the linked web site it says:

"The Friends of Lordship Rec will test, develop and analyse the potential of their community empowerment and co-management model between Haringey Council and the Lordship Rec User Forum, which includes twenty self governing Lordship Rec User Groups. It relies on a balanced and meaningful partnership between Council and Friends groups and enables the local community to take decisions on the management of their park and its various facilities. The team will promote this to other interested parks and organisations."
