Lodger offering company and light care/help around the house/garden for cheaper rent

Hi,

I'm looking for a room locally- ideally a cheap rate, in return for giving some help around the home with things like cooking, cleaning, shopping and gardening, or even just some company.  I have looked into this kind of set-up organised through Homeshare agencies- who sell the facilitation service as cheap care for the home-owner and cheap rent for the helper, and each party pays the agency a monthly fee.  I feel like it would be much nicer to give the fee directly to the homeowner though, and to have a bit more of a personal and flexible arrangement.  Do you know anyone who might be interested in this kind of thing?

I'm a 32 year old female gardener and I'd love to live with someone who is interested in their garden.  I have been living in houseshares until now and am becoming disheartened by living in situations where everyone is coming and going all the time, barely crossing paths, like ships in the night! I want to live in a home that really is someone's home, that I can hopefully add to positively in some way.

I would also be interested in house-sitting or pet-sitting situations in the meantime (I am currently on a friend's sofa-bed since returning to London after a winter working away).

I can provide references from many loyal clients who trust me with keys to their homes and would vouch for my helpful nature!

I can vouch for Sam! She’s a great gardener and all round nice person. We have left our keys with her several times and would trust her completely to look after our house and garden.
